Tottenham strike a deal to sell Dennis Cirkin to Sunderland this summer.
The highly-rated 19-year-old is one of the youngsters Jose Mourinho leaned for greatness when he was at the club.
Spurs have some of England’s best youngsters right now and they sent Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp on loan to gain first-team experience last season.
They could have done the same with Cirkin in that transfer window, but Football initiate reports that they are in talks to sell him permanently to League One, Sunderland.
The report says talks are progressing well and all parties expect a deal to be reached soon enough.
Sunderland is making an offer to return to the Championship next season and they see Cirkin as a player who will strengthen their team.
The youngster knows the path to first-team football at Spurs is difficult and now is the perfect time for him to leave the club so he can start having regular first-team chances.
The report did not reveal the exact fee the Black Cats would pay to sign him, but says it is six figures.
